Workshop Your Poem(s) (or other Creative Work)
This session is designed for us to look word by word, line by line, decision by decision, of one or more of your poems, with the aim of actualizing its highest potential.
Back in 2007, I fell in love with writing poems, thanks to my professor poet Greg Fraser, whose teaching was the best I had and whose poems rule. His almost religious passion toward poetry was contagious. After that, I moved to San Francisco to get my MFA in poetry, and my time there initated me into the types of poems and poets I like most. I’ve been fortunate to publish two books of poems since, and one book of micro-story prose poems.
My poetry and workshop classes before and during my time in MFA, my own poetry writing - my failings and my breakthroughs - and my enthusiastic reading of my favorite poets, have given me the confidence to help you refine your poem(s). I can also apply these and use my lifelong love, deep engagement, and knowledge of the arts to help you with a story, a song, or a piece of visual art, etc. Let’s have fun!
